Hyundai Motor Company reaffirmed its global design prowess today by clinching the prestigious 2024 Red Dot Award for the SANTA FE in the Product Design. Securing one of the world’s top three design accolades, Hyundai Motor underscores the excellence of its customer-centric, lifestyle-oriented design philosophy.

With its ‘Open for More’ design concept, the fifth-generation SANTA FE midsize SUV redefines outdoor pursuits by offering a class-leading, terrace-like living space at the rear, made possible by its extended wheelbase and enlarged tailgate opening. The longer wheelbase also enables enhanced third-row seating, ensuring a comfortable ride.

The extended wheelbase of the SANTA FE allows for a striking roofline, creating a bold and commanding presence on the road. This elongation also enhances the vehicle’s proportions, amplifying the volume around the fenders and accentuating the sharply defined wheel arches. With a shortened front overhang, the SANTA FE exudes agility and dynamism, ready to conquer any terrain with confidence.

Adding to its imposing stance, the SANTA FE rides on impressive 21-inch wheels, further elevating its visual appeal and enhancing its on-road performance. At the rear, the design is characterized by a harmonious balance and simplicity, with H-shaped taillights adding a touch of elegance and sophistication to the overall aesthetic. This meticulous attention to detail ensures that the SANTA FE makes a lasting impression from every angle, combining style with functionality seamlessly.

Boasting a boxy shape and distinctive silhouette derived from its long wheelbase and wide tailgate area, the all-new SANTA FE exudes grandeur with its high hood, H-shaped headlamps, and bold fenders. The H-shaped design elements reinterpret Hyundai’s iconic ‘H’ emblem.

Drawing inspiration from natural light, both the interior and exterior colors of the SANTA FE are carefully curated to evoke a sense of vitality and inspiration, enriching everyday experiences and adventures with a harmonious blend of style and functionality.

The interior of the fifth-generation SANTA FE delivers an expansive living environment akin to a terrace when the tailgate is opened. With foldable second-and third-row seats, it offers class-leading interior space, ensuring ample room for passengers and cargo alike. Characterized by a refined aesthetic, the interior design accentuates horizontal and vertical lines, incorporating an H-motif design for a touch of sophistication.

Equipped with cutting-edge technology, the SANTA FE boasts a Panoramic Curved Display and dual wireless charging capabilities, enhancing convenience and connectivity for occupants. In line with Hyundai’s commitment to sustainability, the interior features sustainable materials such as recycled plastic and eco-friendly leatherette, aligning with eco-conscious lifestyles.

The XUV 3XO represents Mahindra’s commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction, delivering a blend of style, performance, and technology. Drawing inspiration from Mahindra’s upcoming BE family of electric SUVs, the 3XO showcases a revamped design that exudes modernity and sophistication. With its refreshed design language and upgraded features, it aims to set new standards in the compact SUV segment, catering to the evolving needs and preferences of modern-day drivers.

One of the most notable updates to the 3XO is its expanded features list, surpassing its predecessor, the outgoing XUV300. This enhancement ensures that drivers and passengers alike enjoy a more comfortable, convenient, and connected ride.

As indicated earlier and evident from the numerous teasers released by Mahindra, the XUV 3XO undergoes a significant makeover. The updates encompass a more angular front end, featuring new LED daytime running lights (DRLs) and a revised front bumper and headlamp setup. Additionally, the compact SUV showcases a fresh two-part grille with a larger central air intake integrated into the bumper.

Moving to the rear, the XUV 3XO exhibits a redesigned and sleeker tailgate, complemented by a full-width LED light bar and more streamlined, C-shaped tail lamps. Moreover, the registration plate now finds its place on the rear bumper instead of being mounted on the tailgate. Noteworthy enhancements extend to a new set of alloy wheels finished in dark chrome, particularly noticeable on the higher-spec trim levels.

Mahindra intends to offer the XUV 3XO in seven exterior colors, including Citrine Yellow, Dune Dust, Nebula Blue, Deep Forest, Stealth Black, and Everest White. Moreover, higher-spec PRO variants will feature dual-tone color options, adding to the SUV’s visual appeal.

According to Mahindra’s claims, the XUV 3XO boasts impressive approach and departure angles of 23.6 degrees and 39.6 degrees, respectively. Additionally, it offers a commendable water-wading depth of 350mm, further enhancing its off-road capabilities. These specifications underscore the XUV 3XO’s suitability for tackling various terrains and adventurous journeys with confidence.

The XUV 3XO further distinguishes itself with the largest-in-class Skyroof, enhancing both the vehicle’s aesthetics and the driving experience. Additionally, the inclusion of a 360-degree surround view system with a blind view monitor enhances driver comfort and convenience, offering comprehensive visibility and peace of mind on the road.

Setting the benchmark in automotive technology, the XUV 3XO boasts over 80 Adrenox features, including twin 26.03 cm HD screens, wireless Android Auto & Apple Car Play, and built-in Alexa. Catering to the needs of tech-savvy users, the SUV introduces first-in-segment amenities like a 65 W USB-C charging point and Electronic Parking Brake with Auto Hold, ensuring convenience on the move. Elevating the in-car entertainment experience, the vehicle offers a Harman Kardon Premium Audio system with Amplifier & Sub-woofer, featuring Sonic Expanse, Bass Enhancer, 9 Band Equalizer, and 4 Ambient Sound Modes.

Innovative safety measures are integrated into the XUV 3XO with the introduction of Level 2 ADAS (1R1V) featuring 10 advanced driver assistance features. Equipped with radar technology, the system enhances obstacle detection, even in challenging weather conditions such as heavy rain or dense fog, providing crucial collision warnings and facilitating Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB).

XUV 3XO Powertrain

The XUV 3XO boasts a lineup of world-class Turbo engines, delivering exhilarating performance and superior efficiency. True to the brand’s legacy of providing thrilling performance, both the stallion TGDi and Turbo Diesel engines offer best-in-class power and torque. The mStallion TGDi generates 96 kW (130 PS) & 230 Nm, while the Turbo Diesel churns out 85.8 kW (117 PS) & 300 Nm. Notably, the mStallion TGDi achieves a swift 0-60 km/h in just 4.5 seconds, alongside segment-leading fuel efficiency of 20.1 km/l* with manual transmission.

Each engine variant offers a 6-speed manual gearbox and the option of a 6-speed AISIN automatic transmission for petrol engines, along with 6-speed AutoSHIFT+ for diesel variants. The XUV 3XO features an advanced suspension system comprising MacPherson Strut Fully Independent Front Suspension and Twist Beam Semi-independent Rear Suspension, ensuring a quiet and comfortable ride comparable to the XUV 700. Additionally, it introduces three smart steering modes—Comfort, Normal, and Sport—across all powertrains, enhancing driver control and responsiveness.

Equipped with a 6-speed AISIN 3rd Gen Automatic Transmission, renowned for its durability and reliability, the XUV 3XO ensures smooth gear shifts and excellent fuel efficiency. This transmission, proven successful in the XUV 700, delivers a ‘fun to drive’ experience while maintaining optimal fuel economy.

Custom drive modes—Zip, Zap, and Zoom—are available specifically in the Petrol Automatic variants, optimizing driving dynamics across varied terrains by adjusting performance characteristics. Furthermore, the incorporation of MTV-CL (Multi-Tuned Valve Concentric Land) technology within the dampers significantly enhances ride and handling performance, adapting suspension responses to different driving conditions. These features collectively set a new standard for compact SUVs, offering an unmatched driving experience tailored to diverse preferences and terrains.

XUV 3XO Variants and Pricing

Mahindra XUV 3XO boasts fewer variants, with the total number of trims reduced from 25 to 18. Surprisingly, the prices for the XUV 3XO start at Rs 50,000 lower than its predecessor. Analyzing the provided table reveals that the XUV 3XO is competitively priced, with its starting prices undercutting those of most compact SUV rivals.

Introducing the much-anticipated facelift of the XUV300, Mahindra has unveiled the XUV 3XO. With prices kicking off at Rs 7.49 lakh for the base XUV 3XO MX1 variant and reaching up to Rs 15.49 lakh for the top-of-the-line AX7L model, this refreshed version promises an enhanced driving experience.

The XUV 3XO lineup comprises nine trim levels: MX1, MX2, MX2 PRO, MX3, MX3 PRO, AX5, AX5 L, AX7, and AX7 L. Notably, the XUV 3XO automatic range kicks off at a competitive Rs 9.99 lakh, while the entry-level variant featuring a sunroof, the MX2 PRO, starts at Rs 8.99 lakh. This pricing strategy aims to offer customers a wide range of choices, catering to various budget preferences and feature requirements.
