KIA America’s dedication to sustainability and innovation is driving the brand towards an exciting future in the automotive industry. As the company continues to expand its lineup and enhance customer experiences, it is poised for even greater success in the coming years.
Carnival, Forte, Sportage, and Seltos Achieve Largest First-Half Sales in History
Kia America has achieved a significant milestone by recording the highest first-half EV sales in the company’s history. This achievement is coupled with the second-best first-half total sales ever recorded by the brand. The top-selling models in the first half of 2024 were the Sportage SUV and Forte sedan, highlighting the brand’s strong market presence.
Record-Breaking EV Sales
Kia America exceeded the sale of more than 5,000 all-EV for the third consecutive month, with a total of 29,392 EVs sold in Q1 of this year. This represents an impressive 112 percent growth year-over-year, indicating robust momentum in EV sales for the company.
Top Performing Models
Several Kia models set new first-half sales records:
Carnival: Achieved an 18-percent increase in sales.
Forte: Recorded a 13-percent increase in sales.
Sportage: Experienced an 11-percent increase in sales.
Seltos: Only 1-percent increase in sales.
Eric Watson, Vice President of Sales Operations at Kia America, expressed his enthusiasm about this milestone, stating, “Kia’s position as a leader in sustainable mobility and our expanding range of hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and all-electric utility vehicles are providing one of the most balanced lineups in the market. With the imminent arrival of the first-ever hybrid Carnival MPV and an increasing supply of the refreshed K5 sedan, Kia continues to offer award-winning options to our customers. We expect consumer demand and traffic in Kia showrooms to rise even further in the second half of the year.
Strategic Initiatives and Engagements
In addition to stellar sales performance, Kia America announced several initiatives aimed at bolstering its presence and customer engagement:
IONNA Charging Network: Durham, North Carolina, was chosen as the headquarters for IONNA, a charging network founded by a coalition of top automakers including Kia, BMW, GM, Honda, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz, and Stellantis. This initiative underscores Kia’s commitment to advancing sustainable mobility solutions.
