Tata Motors, India’s largest commercial vehicle manufacturer, has taken a significant step towards bolstering the country’s electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Delta Electronics India Pvt Ltd and Thunderplus Solutions Pvt Ltd. The collaboration aims to install 250 fast-charging stations across India, catering to the growing demand for electric commercial vehicles (e-CVs).
Expanding EV Charging Infrastructure Nationwide
Tata Motors initiative, the fast-charging stations will be strategically located in and around 50 key cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Pune, and Kochi. This expansion will significantly enhance Tata Motors’ existing network of 540 commercial vehicle charging points, making it easier for e-CV operators to access reliable and efficient charging facilities across the country.
The rise in the adoption of commercial EVs by industries such as e-commerce, parcel & courier services for last-mile deliveries, underscores the need for a robust charging infrastructure.
