Tata Motors, a pioneer in India’s commercial vehicle sector, marked a historic achievement as it proudly rolled out its 900,000th vehicle from its advanced manufacturing hub in Lucknow. The momentous occasion was commemorated with a flag-off ceremony attended by Mr. Durga Shanker Mishra, Chief Secretary, Government of Uttar Pradesh, and senior representatives from Tata Motors.
Commitment to Sustainable Manufacturing
Spanning an impressive 600 acres, the Lucknow facility underscores Tata Motor‘ dedication to sustainable manufacturing practices. Recognized as a water-positive plant by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the facility is equipped with a 6MW solar power plant, significantly reducing its carbon footprint. Boasting ultra-modern manufacturing stations, including robotic paint booths and state-of-the-art body-in-white shops with robotic spot welding, the facility exemplifies Tata Motors’ commitment to innovation and excellence.
Versatile Vehicle Portfolio
Since its establishment in 1992, the Lucknow facility has been instrumental in rolling out a diverse range of cargo and passenger commercial vehicles, spanning light, intermediate, medium, and heavy categories. Moreover, the facility has played a pivotal role in producing electric and fuel cell electric buses, contributing to Tata Motors’ mission of promoting greener mobility solutions.
