Force Motors New Gurkha

Force Motors Gurkha comes with significant updates in engine, features and power

Force Motors has reintroduced the 5-door Gurkha with significant updates, alongside the existing 3-door model. This relaunch also comes with a refreshed design, several new features, and, notably a more powerful engine that complies with emission regulations. The 5-door Gurkha offers a seven-seat layout, with a bench-type seat in the middle row and two captain seats in the third row, catering to larger families or those needing additional seating capacity.

Gurkha Engine

The heart of the Gurkha was largely due to its 2.6-litre diesel engine not meeting the stringent BS6 2.0 norms enforced from April 1 last year. However, the new Gurkha boasts a Mercedes-sourced outdated engine that adheres to the new emission standards, facilitated by the use of AdBlue. The Gurkha is now propelled by a 140hp, 320Nm engine equipped with auto start-stop functionality, representing a significant increase in power compared to its predecessor.

Force Motors offers a comprehensive warranty package for the Gurkha, including a 3-year/1.5 lakh km warranty, four free services, and 1-year free roadside assistance, enhancing the ownership experience for customers. With these updates, the Gurkha re-enters the market poised to attract adventure-seeking drivers looking for a rugged and capable off-road vehicle.

Gurkha Design

In terms of design, both versions retain the Gurkha‘s signature boxy aesthetic, with circular LED headlamps, a two-slat grille, and vertical tail-lamps. The 5-door variant features a longer wheelbase of 2,825mm to accommodate the additional rear doors, distinguishing it from the 3-door model.

Safety is paramount in the world of off-roading, and the Gurkha is equipped with a range of safety features to provide peace of mind in challenging situations. From robust roll cages to reinforced chassis and advanced braking systems, the Gurkha prioritizes the safety and well-being of its occupants while navigating treacherous landscapes.

Gurkha Features

Noteworthy enhancements include new 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, upgraded interior features such as a larger 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, a digital instrument cluster, and various safety features like powered ORVMs, new tyre pressure monitoring system, traction control, and hill-hold assist.

Competing directly with models like the Mahindra Thar, the Gurkha aims to appeal to enthusiasts seeking adventure and lifestyle SUVs. Additionally, it faces competition from the Maruti Suzuki Jimny in the market segment.

Gurkha Off-Road capabilities

The Force Gurkha’s prowess truly shines when the terrain becomes rugged and challenging. With its robust four-wheel-drive system, solid axles, and differential locks, the Gurkha is purpose-built to conquer mud, rocks, and uneven landscapes with ease. Powered by a potent turbodiesel engine, it delivers the necessary torque to navigate steep inclines and tricky descents without breaking a sweat.

Optimized approach and departure angles are key features that enable the Gurkha to tackle extreme terrains effortlessly. Whether it’s crossing rivers or scaling boulders, this off-roader’s capabilities speak volumes about its engineering excellence.

One of the standout features of the Force Gurkha is its impressive approach angle, which plays a pivotal role in its off-road performance. The approach angle denotes the steepest incline or obstacle that the front of the vehicle can negotiate without hitting its front bumper. Thanks to its generous approach angle, the Gurkha can ascend steep gradients and conquer challenging terrains without the fear of scraping its front end.

While the specific approach angle may vary depending on the model year and variant, the Force Gurkha is known for offering a substantial approach angle across its lineup. This characteristic is highly valued by off-road enthusiasts and adventurers, as it ensures that the vehicle can tackle obstacles head-on with confidence and precision.

The Force Gurkha caters to a wide range of off-road preferences with its diverse array of variants. Whether it’s the rugged hardtop version or the more lifestyle-oriented soft-top variants, buyers have the flexibility to choose according to their specific needs. Additionally, the availability of aftermarket accessories and modifications allows owners to customize their Gurkha to meet their individual off-road requirements.

In essence, the Force Gurkha combines rugged performance, versatility, and safety to deliver an unparalleled off-road experience. With its exceptional capabilities and robust engineering, it stands as a testament to Force Motors’ commitment to producing formidable off-road vehicles.
