Daimler Buses Hosts BusTech Challenge 2023/24: Recognizing Excellence in Service Personnel
In a testament to its commitment to service quality, Daimler Buses recently concluded its BusTech Challenge 2023/24, crowning Thomas Schlatter from Switzerland as the “BusTech Master Europe.” Held in Munich, the award ceremony saw Schlatter clinching the gold medal, with Lukas Schindler from Germany securing silver and Jan van Steeg from the Netherlands bagging the bronze.
A Platform for Excellence: The BusTech Challenge
The BusTech Challenge, now in its sixth edition, serves as an internal competition under the theme “Compete with Friends.” Over 500 mechanics and technicians from authorized Omniplus service centers across 19 European countries participated, showcasing their prowess in both theory and practice.
Mirko Sgodda, Head of Marketing, Sales, and Customer Services at Daimler Buses, expressed excitement over the overwhelming response to the challenge. He underscored the significance of the competition in strengthening the network of employees and fostering motivation and appreciation among participants.
Omniplus, a division of Daimler Buses, has long been dedicated to identifying and honoring the top bus and coach mechanics in Europe. The BusTech Challenge serves as the platform to crown national winners, who then compete for the coveted title of “BusTech Master Europe.”
The competition comprises digital qualifying rounds followed by a two-day final event held at Neu-Ulm, where participants demonstrate their practical skills in maintaining and repairing Mercedes-Benz and Setra buses and coaches.
