Hyundai N Returns to Nurburgring Nordschleife for Fourth Consecutive TCR Victory IONIQ 5 N

Hyundai N is set to return with IONIQ 5 N to the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife, aiming for its fourth consecutive TCR class victory at the 2024 Nürburgring 24 Hours (N24) race. The event marks a significant milestone for Hyundai’s motorsport program, featuring drivers from Europe, North America, and China, reflecting the brand’s global growth and commitment to racing excellence.

In addition to the Nürburgring 24 Hours, Hyundai has unveiled the IONIQ 5 N TA (Time Attack) Spec variant, specially prepared for the upcoming Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. This high-performance electric vehicle represents Hyundai’s dedication to innovation and sustainability in motorsport.

Driver Line-Up

#830 Crew: Mikel Azcona, Marc Basseng, and Manuel Lauck, returning after consecutive TCR-class victories in 2022 and 2023. Basseng and Lauck also won the TCR class in 2021 during the ELANTRA N TCR’s debut.
#831 Team: Mason Filippi, Harry Gottsacker, Mark Wilkins, and Bryson Morris, supported by Bryan Herta Autosport and Hyundai Motor America, aiming to continue their streak of one-two finishes. #832 Entry: TCR China stars Martin (Hongwei) Cao, Rainey He, Andy Yan, and Zhang Zhen Dong, with Cao being the reigning 2023 national series champion.

Hyundai N’s entries also include the Hyundai Driving Experience i30 Fastback N in the VT2 Front-Wheel-Drive class. Last year, this team secured a class victory despite late technical issues. The 2024 crew features Marcus Willhardt, Michael Bohrer, journalist-racer Jens Dralle, and Korean Junior driver Gyumin Kim.
