Bolero Neo Exterior
The Mahindra Bolero Neo has often been dubbed as a consumer-driven transformation. Indeed, it shares its DNA with the TUV300, which didn’t quite capture the hearts of buyers. However, in its revamped form, it exudes a newfound charm that’s hard to resist. The front end showcases a completely redesigned look, boasting a fresh grille design and sleek, slender headlamps. The bumper has undergone a facelift, breathing new life into the front fascia. In fact, the bonnet’s subtle clamshell-like contour adds a touch of elegance that’s hard to ignore.
Rolling on 15-inch wheels and sitting 20 mm lower than its predecessor, the Bolero Neo fills its wheel arches elegantly. Mahindra has chosen to skip the roof rails this time, but a standout feature is the prominent black applique running from the front to the rear, reminiscent of the original Bolero.
Moving to the rear, the Bolero Neo’s tail closely resembles the TUV300, thanks in part to the tailgate-mounted spare wheel that gives it a rugged appearance. The square taillights maintain a sense of continuity with the overall design, although the upright bootlid may not win favor from all angles.
Bolero Neo Comfort
Inside, the Mahindra Bolero Neo feels somewhat familiar. The two-tone theme of black and beige dominates the interior, but the dashboard layout remains reminiscent of the TUV300. It’s not the most striking design in Mahindra’s lineup, and the center console’s design lacks innovation. While there are plenty of storage spaces, some fall short in terms of practicality.
With seating for seven, the Bolero Neo offers individual armrests for front-row occupants and comfortable seating. However, the clutch pedal’s positioning may pose discomfort for the average Indian male. The second-row bench is spacious but firm, while the third-row seats are accessible at the cost of boot space, making them better suited for children.
Bolero Neo Engine Specifications
New Bolero Neo comes with 1.5 liter M-Hawk 3 cylinder BS6.2 diesel engines which churns 100 Bhp@3750 RPM and generates torque of 260 NM @1750-2250 RPM.
MTT offering in only N10-optional which pulls out the SUV from any critical condition by giving more power on the wheel that is stuck by locking the free wheel. This is the only feature which comes in this car and makes it unique from other Sub compact SUV. Misses out the Auto-transmission, still the light weight and short travel clutch plays a significant role for the 2.2 ton beast.
The Neo boasts numbers that empower it to conquer almost any terrain with ease. Its engine delivers a robust low-end grunt, and the mid-range torque is equally impressive. Even when pushing the engine to higher revs, the only thing that seems to rise is the engine’s spirited growl.

It comes with new 3rd Generation Scorpio Chassis for rigidity and all around safety. Dual Airbags come across all variants with ABS, EBD and the CBC which will keep the adventure level high on difficult turns. Also it is having Engine Immobilizer, Front disc brake, rear parking sensors, seat-belt audio reminder. From mid variants both rear defogger, wiper, washer is offered.

When it comes to the suspension, the Bolero Neo shines bright in its segment. With double wishbones up front and a solid axle at the rear, it provides a comfortable and forgiving ride. The Neo’s ability to absorb sharp bumps with grace is commendable. Even at higher speeds, those pesky speed breakers hardly pose a challenge thanks to the chunky 215/75 R15 tires, which offer a natural cushioning effect.
In conclusion, with a starting price of Rs 9.63 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base variant and Rs. 12.14 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top N10(O) trim with the MLD, the Mahindra Bolero Neo offers excellent value.
